Welcome to our new website! Our focus will be on backpacking adventures and other outdoor activities that go hand in hand. As a result, most of what is discussed here will be on the subject. However, there may be a sidetrack here or there chasing similar hobbies.

My favorite backpacking adventures

I can think of no single trip that I have ever wished that I had not undertaken. With that said, I will find it hard to choose the favorite “One”. However, part of what I wish to do is to share some of the more memorable trips of the past. Current trips will always be shared. Planned future trips will have a place here as well. I would hope some of you will share your knowledge and stories as well.

Backpacking gear discussion

I have moved to less is more over the years. It is funny that since my pack has lightened up, I have room for some out of the ordinary carry along items. I think this is a huge advantage of having a light load. I can carry the unexpected things to make the trip even more enjoyable. For example, to take two or three pounds of steaks tightly wrapped in a zip lock bag. How delightful is it to surprise my companions with a 16-ounce steak cooked on a rock the first night. Gone are the days of heavy gear for me. Let’s discuss what you carry.

Backpacking Viewpoint from the trail

backpacking viewpoint | There is only one way to get a view like thisFrom years of backpacking, I have found you can gain new and exciting points of view. I relaxing hike along a ridge trail or following a river up a narrow canyon can give a new perspective to life and substantially remove the daily grind stress that we all face in today’s busy world. When life’s stress creeps up on you, consider seeking a new backpacking viewpoint and watch it fade away.

In conclusion, I hope you enjoy your time on the trail. I look forward to hearing from you.
